The Church is called to be a place of refuge. But for many people in the sex industry, it’s the last place they feel safe. Not because they’ve rejected God—but because they’ve been rejected by His people.
The truth is, many Christians, churches, and leaders carry unconscious biases toward those in the commercial sex industry. Often it’s not hate—it’s ignorance. A lack of understanding. A quiet discomfort. Misguided theology. Or the fear of saying or doing the wrong thing. As a result, the very people who need the hope of Jesus most are often the ones most avoided by His followers.
That’s the barrier our Compassion Training for Church Teams is designed to break.
This interactive, heart-centered training invites your team to explore the question: What would Jesus do—really—if someone from the sex industry walked through your doors? Through biblical reflection, real-life stories, and trauma-informed teaching, we help church leaders and volunteers move from silent judgment to Spirit-led compassion.
You’ll learn:
How trauma shapes behavior, trust, and church engagement
Why shame and religious language can deepen wounds
How to offer hospitality without pressure
What to say (and not say) in first conversations
How to build long-term, trust-based relationships with survivors
How to disciple someone still navigating the complexities of the industry
This training isn’t about fixing people. It’s about fixing our posture. It’s about learning to love like Jesus—who saw the woman at the well, the adulterous woman, and the prostitute who anointed His feet, and never turned away. He drew close, offered dignity, and spoke truth wrapped in compassion.
We’ve seen this training change not only church culture—but hearts. We've watched pastors repent of past messages, small group leaders welcome women they once avoided, and outreach teams begin serving with greater empathy and effectiveness.
If the Church is going to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a hurting world, it must begin by seeing people the way He does.
