Seminar at Exxxotica: A Holy Disruption

This year at Exxxotica Chicago, something happened that still feels like a miracle—we were given the opportunity to teach a seminar. It was the first time we’d ever been allowed to do this, and honestly, the fact that the Exxxotica staff agreed to let the “Jesus girls” lead a class at all felt like God had cracked open a door no one else could.

We showed up prepared, prayed up, and full of expectation. The room wasn’t packed, but every person who came was present, open, and engaged. The seminar, “Whole You: Self-Care for On and Off Camera,” was created specifically for those working in the adult film industry. I wanted them to know they are whole people—body, mind, and spirit—not just a persona or a product of their hustle. They are precious, valuable, and deeply loved.

Throughout the session, I shared practical ways to identify and live out your core values, set boundaries that protect your peace, and create rhythms of rest. We talked about balancing what fills you with what drains you, and how to stay grounded in who God created you to be.

People weren’t just listening—they were leaning in, asking questions like, “How do I find my life purpose?” and “How do I set boundaries in this specific situation?” It opened up so much space for honest conversation and connection. Afterward, members of our team met one-on-one with attendees to speak life and encouragement over them. We saw God move in that room—in quiet, powerful ways. And as we wrapped up, one person stood up and said, “I don’t know about anyone else, but I can guarantee you changed one life today.”

That moment alone made it all worth it.

A few days later, I received an email from one of the performers who attended. She said she had just been thinking about our team and had hung the “Boundaries Guideline” handout on her wall. Then she wrote something I’ll never forget: “You’re the only reason I know Jesus loves me.”

And believe it or not—Exxxotica staff received such great feedback, they’ve ASKED us to teach again in Miami this summer!

This was more than a seminar. It was a holy disruption. A quiet invasion of love in a space not usually associated with the name of Jesus—and yet, He was there. And we got to be there with Him.
